You're Not The Only One
We emerged out of the pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.
I have been a musician for my entire life, and, growing up Down River Detroit, I am also no stranger to the extreme life and survival challenges so many of us face. I have seen far too many painful losses and tragedies that cast a shadow over families; the kind that fester and never really go away.
The songs I write have always been a place for me to release fear, sadness and doubt and try to replace them with hope.
I have supported many non-profit efforts over the years, but recently, the devastating loss of my own baby sister, Jenny, to a drug overdose moved me to create my own foundation. This is a small way for me to feel like I am doing something concrete to offer hope. It is also, quite honestly, a way for me to channel my grief and guilt over being powerless to do anything to save Jenny's life.
The name, "You're Not The Only One" I hope says it all.
This is a place where no one will be judged for falling prey to the demons of drugs and depression, and help find resources.
Our mission is to marry music, songwriting, journaling, therapy and a host of other solutions to help those in need.
We will raise money to support other like-minded charities, donate instruments, offer music lessons, and provide counseling sessions to show others that we are..... that there is hope for those are are lost and in pain.
